Left Politics and the Literary Profession

In the early 1970s, the political insights and activism of the New Left began to be integrated into the practice of literary criticism. That practice has profoundly influenced the way that literature subsequently was conceptualized and taught. In Left Politics and the Literary Profession Leonard J. Davis and M.
