Life is a winding journey, full of twists and challenges. From the carefree days of childhood to the hurdles of adulthood, each step shapes who we are.
Born in Iran, I lived there for 35 years before moving to Canada. A geography class sparked my fascination with the Arctic, and reading Jack London's White Fang in 1975 fuelled my dream of experiencing it firsthand.
In 1995, I moved to Canada, bringing me closer to that dream. In 2011, my wife and I visited Kugluktuk, Nunavut, where the Arctic's cold beauty came to life before our eyes.
I started an after-school program at the local library, which became a gathering place for the community. From 2016 to 2022, I worked in Norman Wells, Northwest Territories, where my experiences with young children deeply influenced my writing. These experiences ultimately inspired the stories in this book.
