Palaeolimnology and Lake Acidification (Revised)

This volume comprises a collection of papers based on contributions given at a recent Royal Society meeting on the subject of palaeolimnology and lake acidification. This is a subject which is now receiving considerable attention, particularly because of the widespread concern about acid rain. The papers concentrate on research in Northern Europe and North America, and discuss results of recent projects such as the Surface Water Acidification Project (SWAP). This book will be of interest to environmental scientists, biologists, geologists and all those concerned with the causes and effects of lake acidification.
