Description

Meggie was my sister, the eldest of 6 children who had down syndrome plus an undiagnosed intellectual disability with nonverbal communication difficulty. She was born in the early 1950's where many children like Meggie were Institutionalist, because she was different. Looked different as well. My father didn't take to her in fact he was a man that didn't cope with her difference at all. He was known to have thrown out all her belongings in the beginning. My family are dysfunctional which made Meggie's life difficult as well. She had a sad life, but we all loved her deeply, though as the story will comment, on my difficulty as well. The story will add my mental illnesses were present even as a small child, as it showcases my perspective on my sister's idiosyncrasies as Meggie had quite a few. Meggie went to a very special school, with other children similar to her. Dad used to go there on weekends and help out there with other fathers I think he liked doing that. I can remember playing all through the school as I was quite the wonderer.

Unfortunately, my grandmother was an interfering old girl. in fact, i would say her interference was the cause of their marriage demise. This story has an unusual ending.
