Author of DesignThinkingDrawing, Peter Richards, is an advocate of freehand drawing when it comes to transferring ideas into a design that others will understand. Computers can help a designer to produce intricately detailed drawings, but these often lack the design thought - the thinking while drawing - that comes from the manual act of producing a design by hand.
