Teachers Guide for Holocaust: The World and the Jews
This text is also set apart in another way. Unlike many of the other books, it begins where the Holocaust itself began, with Kristallnacht. And it ends uniquely, where the Holocaust itself actually ended, with the aftermath of the Holocaust-a story seldom covered in other textbooks. The vast majority of the book deals with what happened in the historical period from 1939 to 1945. Of course, in order to understand this period and the great loss suffered by the Jewish people during the Holocaust, it is necessary to look back in time to the Middle Ages (and even before), and necessary also to speak briefly of events which have transpired since. But the bulk of the material is the raw evidence of the Holocaust itself.
