I want Students to understand the purpose of an exercise. It can't be changed, or you have changed the Method. I want to show the links between the exercises and the connections throughout. I want to give Students the tool to see the Method and be inspired to seek the truth. I want to inspire critical thinking. Although Pilates is the Art of Control, it is within that control that we find freedom and effortless movement. The control is to set us free, not bind us. I want them to see this method as exercise- correct exercise and not therapy. I think there are many valuable and wonderful offshoots of Pilates, but to me Pilates is the perfect Chocolate Cake. You can have German Chocolate Cake, you can have Raspberry Chocolate Cake or Mocha Chocolate Cake and they all taste amazing- but they aren't the Simple and Perfect Chocolate Cake.
