First Book of Songs Or Airs of Four Parts

This is Volume 20 of a series that presents the complete works of Elizabethan composer Francis Pilkington. This volume contains “The First Book of Songs or Airs of Four Parts, ” originally published in 1605.

Pilkington (c. 1570 â€" 1638) was an English composer, lutenist, and singer who served as a Lay Vicar at Chester Cathedral. His compositions are representative of the English madrigal school and lute song traditions.
