Dr. John F. Kershaw is President of C-Tec, Inc., a company that develops automotive instructional training materials and undertakes automotive forensic investigations. He has over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry. Prior to C-Tec, he worked for GM as a district service manager, executive automotive training manager, and a senior program developer, where he developed automotive training programs for all of the GM Training Centers. He has also been an automotive instructor at Camden County College and Harrisburg Area Community College and is the author of numerous automotive textbooks and developed automotive curriculum for Nissan, FIAT, GM, Corinthian Colleges, Inc. Ohio Technical College, Intellitec, and PennFoster College He has been a member of NATEF and ASE workshops, helping to develop their standards and test questions.
Kirk T. VanGelder is a Certified Automotive Technology Instructor at Cascadia Technical Academy, in Vancouver, Washington. With over 30 years of teaching experience at the high school and college level, Kirk encourages students to think critically, learn how to ask questions of themselves, and then search out the answers. In addition to Fundamentals of Automotive Technology: Principles and Practice, he is the author of Fundamentals of Maintenance and Light Repair. He is passionate about helping students understand the science behind automotive technology so that they can continuously embrace emerging systems and technologies in the quickly changing automotive industry.
