In this book I aim to examine the concept of acoustic ecology; to provide definitions and theoretical backgrounds; to describe history of acoustic ecology and its development; to introduce the readers to the first researchers, their mission and methodological tools; to find out what is the role of listening in the process of foreign/second language acquisition; to provide information about the goals of education for sustainable development, outdoor activities and language learning; to describe teaching approach to language acquisition outdoors; to present my lesson plan in the context of acoustic ecology.
