I have Huntington's disease, a wretched, neurodegenerative disease that is slowly diminishing my ability to think, speak and move. My book is a window into some of the ways HD has impacted my life and my family's lives. Even if you don't know anything about HD, I think you'll find this book to be compelling and thought-provoking. Why? Because at some time or another, you're going to lose someone you love. That person could just be taken from you all at once, or, as is becoming more common, the person you love will wake up and not be the same person he or she was the day before. This is my path and I write about how the simplest things in life can be the most heartbreaking, a life where comfort and love can be found during desperate times.
