This is an exciting story of a wealthy Costa Rican family and their lives during the late 1800's and thru 1950. Their thrilling experiences include the arrival of the grandfather, Lucien Constant, leaving France and moving the family to Costa Rica. The travails of his family as they establish their lives there after losing their fortune before making it home. They struggled to build a thriving coffee business and gradually became a wealthy family again. Follow their story as Lucien's son Luzare carries on the family business and continues making it one of the most successful plantations in Costa Rica. His first wife Esmeralda provides him with three children, giving her life to give their last, Victor, his own. Loneliness gradually brings another woman into his life, as well as the births of two beautiful girls who bring a mixture of excitement and pleasure, but also unhappiness as he finds them losing their way as they begin making families of their own.
