A life in front of the camera was filled with pressure and often unreasonable expectations from others. Sometimes it was a boss, the viewing audience or a relationship.
During my twenty-plus years in television, I came to realize the monumental role God played in keeping me both grounded and sane. I learned so much in my walk with Him and I am reminded daily of God's presence in my life. Our relationship began at age 8, when I followed my sister down the aisle as she gave her life to Christ.
LaVern was my older sister, and I just wanted to follow her. I'm glad I did. Growing up, I always considered myself a good Christian but never experienced a relationship that depended solely on God. That changed during my years in college, and later a marriage that ended in divorce. The challenges that came from a bad marriage and trying to raise a child in it
made me connect with God in ways I never knew were possible. I began to discover God for myself and began to trust Him much like a child discovering something for the first time. It was so exciting.
My journey was fun, full of surprises and of course had many lessons along the way. The more I began to trust God, the more my faith grew. It's still growing today and it's that faith I want to share with you now.
