Chasing Dreams

At the court of the "Merry Monarch," newly-crowned King Charles II, they call Cassia Montefort "Lady Winter." Amid the decadence of the life at Whitehall Palace, she is the untouchable ice princess, a favorite of His Majesty, some even say a royal mistress. But no one knew how she suffered at her own father's hand, or of her real reasons for meeting with the King. Now, Lord Montefort has been murdered and the lord and ladies of the court whisper that Cassia, his sole heiress, should hang.
