Ella Speaks French & Conquers Winter: A Bilingual Adventure

- Ella...? Viens, says Monique in a soft, almost mischievous tone.

I know "viens" means "come", but I do not want to do as I'm told. There is nothing better than staying in bed when it's cold outside.

- Ellaaa...

- Oui, I'm on my way, j'arrive!

I reluctantly push the door open and what do I see? Monique with the biggest grin, hiding behind a pair of traditional wood snowshoes; "des raquettes!" she exclaims.

- Des raquettes? I repeat.

- Oui, Ella. Tu viens?

Follow Ella's adventures through her diary, two weeks into her new life in Montreal. Is she adapting to her new home? Is she learning to embrace winter and live in a French-speaking environment like a true Quebecer?
