Chad Matthews has been trying to live a normal life for his sister. Growing up without parents is bad enough; she doesn't need the strangeness that comes with his dangerous world.

Chad is lucky. Incredibly lucky. Things always seem to go his way. And some people tell him that that isn't just chance -- that it's a power, and that he has to use it for good. But Chad doesn't believe them: how could anyone that lucky be orphaned in a car crash?

When Chad comes home one night and finds his sister missing, he's forced back into the world of espionage and intrigue he'd left behind to find her. He'll have to rebuild every bridge he can, and burn even more, as he moves heaven and hell to get her back.
