History of Ditchling in the County of Sussex

Alfred the Great and Katherine of Aragon both owned manors in the village. On the basis of this, the author believed that the king spent much time here and that "Wings Place" or the "Old House" is a fragment of a palace built by Queen Katherine! Ignoring these flights of fancy, the book is otherwise thoroughly researched.
