There are 18 projects in Electricity. These include building circuit loops to light lights, buzz buzzers and spin pinwheels. Using the motor and paper discs, children also explore spin art. They build a switch to open and close circuit loops and use the switch to send coded messages to a friend.
Children also test which materials conduct electricity and which do not. Thus they learn which materials make good conductors and which make good insulators. By comparing one loop circuits to two loop circuits, they discover the differences between series and parallel circuits.
The kit includes a 40 page book, a bulb and holder, an LED, a motor, a buzzer, 4 color coded alligator leads, components to make a switch, a pinwheel, a battery band, cutouts and other parts. The projects require a 1.5 Volt alkaline battery, which can be a AA, AAA, C or D cell. The battery is not included.
