It's the twilight of the twenty-first century, and perpetual failure Connie Lam is barely scraping by as a low-level Contractor on a distant asteroid station called Freeport, a retrofuturistic cosmopolis known for its glitzy nightlife and glamorous wealth. But behind the fizzy cocktails and shiny gold veneer, a revolution is brewing. Trapped between two worlds, Connie must find new ways to stay afloat financially, and concoct new schemes to avoid deportation. But when her former business partner is found dead, coin becomes the least of her concerns. Now she's hustling to save her life.
