Mr Zippy and the trash pile

Mr. Zippy, an energetic Eastern Grey Squirrel, zips through the forest near an apartment building where his kind friend, Ms. JoAnn, lives. One day, his playful nature gets him trapped in a dangerous plastic ring from a pile of litter. Desperate for help, he turns to Ms. JoAnn, who rescues him and teaches him the importance of keeping the environment clean. Their friendship blossoms as she looks out for him, and he visits her every day. This heartwarming tale highlights the bond between humans and wildlife while teaching young readers about environmental responsibility and the impact of littering.

Mr. Zippy was created by JoAnn Mason, mother, grandmother, and lover of all life, human or otherwise. Mr. Zippy is based on a real life squirrel that JoAnn saved when she realized he was in danger, bringing the community together to save a squirrel. She spends her days watching for his visits, as he comes back often to say hi.
