Eli thinks he's leading a relatively normal life...then he's brutally murdered on a hot summer afternoon in 2019. But that's just the beginning when Eli suddenly finds himself in a rundown alley on a completely different Earth. Faced with flying werewolves, terrifying witches, and gruesome ghosts, Eli starts to resent this second chance at life until a gorgeous young man named Cyril rescues him.

Claiming that Eli is his long-lost young master, Cyril takes him back to a fairytale cottage in the woods and waits on him hand and foot. Alone and terrified in this new world, Eli has no choice but to accept his new identity and live with the clumsy, soft-spoken, and fiercely loyal Cyril.

If Cyril has the energy of a clueless puppy, then Eli is the embodiment of a grumpy kitten. Together, the chaotic duo unravels the mystery of their magical world by solving grisly crimes and connecting with eccentric characters from every side of the spectrum, all while striving for their "happily ever after,"...which doesn't come easy at all.
