This report shows how the Lao People's Democratic Republic can boost food security by strengthening agricultural value chains, supporting rural areas, and scaling up nutrition-centered food systems to improve health and eliminate hunger.
The report looks at food security across six pillars-availability, accessibility, utilization, stability, agency, and sustainability-and highlights issues including low agricultural productivity, inadequate infrastructure, and gender inequality. With over 10% of households short of food, it shows how integrated solutions that mitigate the impacts of climate change, improve rural services, and boost agricultural productivity can support the resilient food systems needed for sustainable development.
