Caveat emptor! Reading this book will in no way help you get faster. This book is not interested in you getting faster (no offense). If you would like to get faster, more power to you! But then consider putting your $15 toward your next pair of supershoes or another book, one that will make you feel dedicated, serious, and results-oriented about your running simply by taking its place on your nightstand. If that is your image of who you'd like to be, there is no shortage of books for you.If your self-image is something other than that-something less efficient, less productive, more human-this might be a book for you.
How to Run: A DIY Guide for Romantics is a celebration of joy, spontaneity, improvisation, intuition, chance, the fact and wisdom of the body, passion, nature, freedom, the mystery of existence, life as well as death-and, of course, running. Nothing to teach, this book asks only to play.
