Linda Smith, a woman of a certain age and of an uncertain past, settles in Brentville, a small town in central Pennsylvania. Fearful of the future, she seeks refuge in the town's history and among its welcoming inhabitants. Among the locals is Hannah, an eighteen year old high school senior who is anxious to leave the same small town that she perceives as a prison, and the the 21st century Eden envisioned by Linda. Zeke Parks, Brentville's unofficial booster, is caught between the two women and their notions of past, present, and future.
