Professor Jason Carr, with a possible dementia diagnosis in his future, agrees to have his DNA tested to look for the telltale markers. A shocking revelation in the results compel him to return to the now-abandoned American military base in Germany where he attended high school in the 1980s. As a graphic design historian and researcher, the trip also compels him to visit a monastery in the Eifel mountains of Germany to continue his study on Gothic typography and transcendent messaging. When confronted with a crossover of medieval history, the complexity of the 20th century war years, and his own path, he has to choose between what to keep secret and what needs to be told.
