Tales from the Toiletside is a fairly forgettable collection of flash fiction, short stories, and the Kafkaesque novelette, A Metamorphosis. This pathetic anthology combines dark humor, existentialism, absurdism, and social criticism to explore the absurdities of modern life. From existential dilemmas to satirical critiques of society, each story attempts to be a good one. The author tries too hard to be Chuck Palahniuk, Kurt Vonnegut, or Franz Kafka. Probably good enough for fans of Kafkaesque literature, absurdist fiction, and darkly comedic storytelling.
