This book is not another story of achieving sobriety and overcoming addiction. It isn't a story at all, but it is an alternative blueprint to overcoming addiction from the author's own 42 years of sobriety and professional understanding. It does not require one to believe in a higher power or adhere to any organization's traditional views. It embraces some of the cognitive principles within AA's 12 steps but expands and simplifies them in significantly different ways. If you have struggled with them, or are just searching for a way out of addiction and suffering, these work. Follow them and you will most likely stay sober and on a new path of happiness for a lifetime. I have used them extensively on others with great success. Even if you are not an addict and just suffering from mental challenges, they are a blue print for a new outlook and way of living which will undoubtedly prove beneficial.
