Dynamic investigative archaeologists Rebecca Tempest and Jack Cooper discover the world's oldest bible within an ancient gem-covered gold sleeve in a buried tomb on the Bay of Naples. As romance blossoms in the background, their partner in Rome uncovers previously unknown engraved stone tablets commemorating the miracles of St Paul in the ruined city of Palmyra, Syria.
The overthrow of the Assad regime by rebel forces opens a window of opportunity. A deal is struck with the Israeli IDF to take Jack and ex-marine Spike on an incursion to recover the tablets. Attacked by terrorists from the mountains, they shoot their way out and are forced into a life-and-death dash for the border.
But, the priceless artefacts draw the attention of illicit traders, and a series of heists in Istanbul and Greece sees the balance of power shift back and forth between the good guys and the bad before a dramatic showdown in the South of France decides the winner.
