I love running with friends; there's something magical about it. We share stories, laughter, moments of fatigue and triumph. All those miles we run together transform into memories and anecdotes that weave themselves into the journey of life. But when, for some reason, I don't have anyone to run with-whether my friends are traveling or unwell-I run alone. It's not the same as running with company, of course, but in that silence, in that temporary solitude, my imagination flourishes. It was precisely during those solitary runs that the inspiration for the stories I share here, and for revisiting the memories that make up the chapters of this book, was born.
Since I started running, this sport has become somewhat of an obsession. My life began to revolve around the miles I've run and the stories of others who had achieved what I dreamed of accomplishing. Everything related to the World Marathon Majors mesmerized me to such an extent that I decided to contribute my own voice to this narrative, sharing what it meant for me to reach this goal.
The motivation behind The Stars of My Life: A Journey Through the World Marathon Majors comes from my own experiences as a runner, but also from the stories of those I've met along the way. This is not a book about how to run marathons; it's a tale about what happens on the road to them. It's about fears, joys, sadness, triumphs, and above all, human connections. A tribute to those encounters and the lessons I've learned.
This is my story. I hope you enjoy it.
