Hatched without the birth markings that denoted an heir to throne, the drake called Raas sought nothing less than to forget that he was the son of the Black Dragon - one of the most feared of the Dragon Kings. Seeking solace and a new life, he hid among humans, even finding love...until death took that from him.

Forced by circumstance to return to his sire in the dread, mist-enshrouded realm of Lochivar, Raas flees anew to the mountain kingdom of Talak in search of a fresh start...only to find that the legacy of his father's past ambitions has taken root there, along with the desperate quest of an obsessed renegade from across the sea.
