In the lively streets of Geneva, Emma Saint-Louis appears to lead a perfect life: a successful career in finance, a loving husband, and two children. Yet, at forty, something is missing. Memories of her childhood in Dame-Marie, Haiti-where her grandmother, Manman Lèlenne, danced the yanvalou under the stars-haunt her more and more.

When she stumbles upon a Haitian traditional dance class in her neighborhood, Emma embarks on an unexpected journey that will transform her life. The yanvalou, a sacred dance that mimics the movements of the mystical serpent Damballah, becomes her path back to herself. Guided by a mysterious dancer with silver dreadlocks, Emma rediscovers not only her roots but also a mission greater than herself.
