Prophecy of Dragon Fire

High Lady Tressa is experiencing horrible visions of impending tragedy and devastating fire that could destroy their world. She has been having these prophetic dreams of fire for a very long time, but the frequency and magnitude have increased in recent months. Now all Tressa can see is fire.

She also had the foretelling of one who would be tried too early and of one who would become. The meaning of that prophetic dream is a mystery. The Council of Firsts decides to review the magical prophecies written upon the birth of every Dragon Lord to determine if they can decipher the meaning of her dream. The vision might refer to Trevid. His prophecy refers to fire, and it is an even rarer dual prophecy.

After the review, to Trevid's surprise, he is to begin his formal training in weapons and magic fifteen months early. Trevid asks that his best friend, Ramsey, who is non-dragon-born, be allowed to train with him. The advanced weapons and fighting training will do Ramsey no harm, and he could be a valuable asset to the Dragon Lords in the future.

While Trevid and Ramsey train, there is another on their world who is working hard at his own craft. Grayson, a sorcerer, is performing black blood magic in the hopes of discovering how to control the dragons and their fire, just like a Dragon Lord. He is unaware that his rituals have had an unintended result. He has allowed an evil demon spawn to enter their world. This entity is determined to see their world burn.

Will Trevid's prophecy regarding his dragon fire be enough to prevent the destruction of their world? And what is the meaning of the dual prophecy?
