The customization of finishing materials in housing developments frequently generates delays in construction schedules due to buyers' uncertainties in the selection process. This book presents a comparative analysis between the traditional method of selection through illustrated catalogs and the application of Interactive Virtual Environments (IVE) developed with Game Engine technology.
Based on quantitative and statistical studies, the work demonstrates how IVE can function as a decision-making support tool, reducing aesthetic uncertainties and minimizing the need for specialized consulting. The results indicate potential for schedule optimization and reduction of delays in civil construction timelines.
