This is a book about America's Vietnam War. It is not a history of the war, although you will read some of its history in these pages. It is not a war story, although the stories herein are compelling. Rather, this is a book that asks some questions about the war relative to Christianity and seeks their answer through the experiences of two heroic men who served in it.
Why do these two similar men - heroic in battle, deeply devoted to the Christian faith they embraced, successful in family and career - differ so radically in their viewpoint on the Vietnam chapter of American history, one that defined a significant part of their own lives? That is a question that this book will attempt to answer.
