As is well known, modern life first began in the West. In poetry, modernism is considered to have begun in Paris with Charles Baudelaire, who first used the concept in the context of painting.
We, however, believe that it began in Istanbul in a postmodernist manner approximately a century earlier, even though the concept was not used at the time, with Sheikh Galip who said;
"Look kindly upon yourself, for you are the essence of the universe/You are human, the apple of the eye of the universe."
A time will come when people will remember Galip.
May friends consider the opportunity to converse with him a treasure.
