Curious Travels of Findley: Book One

In a snug little kitchen at the edge of a village, a squishy dog named Findley, made from leftover black and grey play dough, magically comes to life. Unlike other toys, Findley doesn't flash or sing, but curiosity stirs within him.

Leaving tiny dough footprints behind, he begins to explore the world, discovering cocoa powder, yogurt pots and a discarded biscuit named Kit who tells him of the outside world. With cats, birds, trees and endless skies.

One bright morning, driven by wonder, Findley squeezes through the cat flap and declares his intent - his adventure begins now.

As he journeys beyond the garden, into forests, fields and faraway coasts, Findley meets many new friends.

A wise hedgehog teaches him to observe carefully.

An owl named Hugs shows him how to follow the stars.

He meets little Bobbie rabbit and helps her and her family.

He runs through golden wheat fields, shares stories with a lonely scarecrow, assists hedgehogs and learns useful skills from an old seaman, on the coast.

He even climbs a mighty mountain and befriends a gentle white wolf named Rach, staying by her side until she finds her pack again. In the bustling city, he assists strangers, learns patience and helps in small, meaningful ways. Though dazzling and noisy, the city shows Findley how much he's grown.

Finally, with his heart full of memories he finds his way back home. The garden gate welcomes him and he reflects on all he has seen, felt and learned.

More than a simple journey, Findley's adventure is a tale of courage, kindness, resilience and joy. A gentle reminder that even the smallest explorer can leave big prints on the world.

And one day soon, he will set off again.
