It is fairly well known in Christian history that Jesus used two notable ways to communicate His teachings while on the earth. One was through parables; the other was through questions He asked. Some have inquired: How many questions did Jesus ask as He taught during His ministry? There are varied answers-anywhere between 180 in the Gospels, to 339 throughout the Bible. It is noteworthy to remind ourselves that He answered far fewer questions than He asked.
Jesus used this effective method of teaching for many reasons. Some of these include to spark curiosity, foster faith, encourage deeper thinking, build relationships, and to encourage personal growth and transformation. Jesus was a Master teacher! Even in our day, questions have the capacity to help us reflect on and evaluate our lives and perhaps also lead us to transformative change.
This volume of sacred songs includes ten of our Savior's most relevant and well-known questions as He taught his disciples and others during his three-year ministry. You will no doubt recognize each of them. In this collection there are nine choral songs appropriate for SATB chorus' and also one solo included in this book. The text takes the singer and listener on a personal journey of how these questions might be relevant to each of us today.
We hope you will enjoy and use these renderings for your own and others' enjoyment and reflection as we celebrate through music these sacred messages and truths from our Savior, Jesus Christ.
