Two weeks have passed since the events of EG III: Ghost of Tomorrow. Callous and Syn have ingratiated themselves within the floating city of Celestius. Callous has taken to his birthright, now begrudgingly sitting on the throne after ousting his blood-bathing cousin Emelia. Syn has taken the opportunity to use the resources of Fallsvow, the castle of the ruling family that also serves as a school for the city's youth. As Syn advises Callous, he has been convinced to use his intellect to educate the youth, adding to his daunting list of responsibilities. With Callous and Syn having a full schedule of responsibilities, we now follow Iryss Greenhearst.
Iryss, a former student of Fallsvow herself, now ventures day by day, chronicling the reign of the new king. Iryss is no stranger to mischief of her own, mischief she handles differently than her new friends. Handling her conflict with magic instead of steel. With logic instead of impulse. We now witness how her methods clash to what came before.
