Assault: A Margaret Scott Mystery

Gossip gets her off. Margaret Scott, a private investigator in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a sucker for a super juicy secret. A new client has hired her to find a stolen painting, but she's clueless about the art world and the lengths people will go to procure something that is considered priceless. When she finds out her new client might have ties to the mob, she tries to pretend that information doesn't make him more interesting. Instead of focusing on the case, she becomes more suspicious of her new client than any of the suspects. This distraction causes her to lose sight of her original objective. It's only when she's in too deep that she realizes this case will upend her life. Finding her way through will force her to go against her every instinct.
