From the PREFACE
The devil was out to destroy me and the members of my family. Without realizing it, I was caught up in an epic battle for my life. This battle had been in play for generations since the beginning of time.
In this book, I mention a cosmic tension between good and evil and its effect on people like you and me. I often refer to the devil or the enemy as a specific agent of evil, confusion, and lies in my life. However, my references to him include the entire dark side of the spiritual realm.
Although much of the spirit world was a mystery to me, it has been my experience that evil exists in a very real way and tries to ruin all our lives. In the Gospels when Jesus was healing the sick, He was frequently casting out demons. This isn't just an allegory.
Put on all of God's armor so that you'll be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we're not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. -Ephesians 6: 11-12
We wanted very much to come to you, and I, Paul, tried again and again, but Satan prevented us. -1 Thessalonians 2:18
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. -1 Peter 5: 8-9
Jesus said that he came to give us life and life to the full, while the thief (the devil) came "only to steal and kill and destroy." (John 10:10)
I believe Him.
Thank you for reading the story of my journey with an open heart.
