Echoes of the Past

Having evaded attacks from slavers, Mystics, and more, Vala and her party successfully managed to get down to Karnathal, the city she grew up in. However, it did not take long for them to be spotted, attacked, and captured by the city's mages. Vala was separated from them and taken to face her mother while the others were held in an allegedly inescapable prison.

Arien, having slipped free of the prison, makes his way across the city, trying to find Vala and get the information they came for. Along the way, he manages to uncover details about the unfolding events. Pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place, but the picture they reveal is not a good one. The threat brought on by the Mystics no longer seems as bad, and though escape is still the main goal, the question remains - can this be ignored, or will the party have to rise to face yet another threat?
