Dark Skies

Peter Boyle is a young kid from Illinois who loves baseball and chasing after storms. On his birthday, his parents get in a fight and he's relegated to hang out in this underground fort when a giant storm approaches that changes his life. Through surviving a tornado to being bullied on the playground, he finds a way and the courage to adulthood, where he chases storms for real, becoming an internet sensation with his videos. A young programmer storm-chaser wannabe finds Peter nearly dead in a field, his car smashed flat, and rescues him, with the secret ambition to become a storm chaser just like Peter. They strike up a friendship and share storm-chasing adventures that nearly destroy all the bonds of their friends and family, like the monster supercells they chase for real. Dark Skies is a story about the excitement and anticipation that severe weather brings: to ordinary people, to professionals, to storm chasing fanatics and to unsuspecting victims caught up in situations that they neither expected nor wanted.
