Sherlock Holmes, on the run from the remains of Professor Moriarty's gang, has assumed the identity of Sigerson, an Artic explorer and violinist from Stockholm.
Arriving in Fall River, Massachusetts, in August 1892, he is immediately caught up in the investigation of the gruesome axe murders of Andrew and Abby Borden in their home.
While the police quickly accuse their daughter Lizzie Borden, Sigerson is convinced she did not commit the crime.
Alone in a foreign country, can Sigerson prove Lizzie's innocence by finding the actual murderer in the face of resistance by the local police? And importantly, can he do it without revealing he is actually Sherlock Holmes?
