Secret of Pecos Spring

Thirteen-year-old Elena Rodriguez feels trapped in drought-stricken Pecos, Texas, where her family's pecan farm teeters on the edge of failure after three years without rain.

When Elena discovers an old metal box containing a journal from 1887 in a dry riverbed, she's drawn into the world of Samuel, a boy who lived during another historic drought. His writings hint at a hidden spring that could be the salvation her family, and her entire town, desperately needs.

With her skeptical best friend Marcus at her side, Elena follows clues from Samuel's journal to the town's historical railroad depot, ancient petroglyphs in a cave, and finally to the mysterious Three Sisters Mesas. With help from town historian Mr. Holloway and elderly rancher Hank Garrison, Elena uncovers an underground water source that has been overlooked for generations.

As past meets present, Elena not only saves her family's farm but becomes the keeper of a precious resource, ensuring Pecos will thrive for generations to come.
