In a quaint German village overshadowed by the dark clouds of the Second World War, Heinrich and Anna Beck face a heart-wrenching decision that will test the bounds of their humanity and courage. When their Jewish neighbors come to them in the middle of the night knowing they are going to be torn from their home by the Gestapo, the Becks take in their eight-year-old daughter, in a desperate bid to shield her from the horrors of the regime.

With the watchful eyes of soldiers ever-present and danger lurking in every corner, the couple, along with their teenage son Lukas and ten-year-old daughter Liesel must rely on their wits, resourcefulness, and unwavering resolve to protect the little girl. Every knock on the door could spell disaster, every fleeting moment of safety could evaporate in an instant.
