Basic Tithing

Burundi Pastor Euphraim Ndikumwenayo wrote his master's thesis in practical theology on tithing, a system for supporting a religious group by its members. Only two copies of his book were printed-one for the Hope Africa University library in Bujumbura, and a personal copy for the author. But now his valuable research is available for anyone to read in simplified English. Pastor Euphraim explains tithing from ancient times in both pagan and Jewish contexts, the history of tithing in the Old Testament, and tithing methods from the early church until now. The author also conducted research in a Burundi parish to find out what people in a typical worshiping community thought and did regarding tithing. All his discoveries are included here.
