It wasn't fair. Everyone was getting paid to stay at home and not work. Jayden knew his luck. If he took his friends advice and quit, the pandemic would end the next day. The government would cut the extra funding for unemployment. He would have to get a new job, start at the bottom and probably make less money than he was now. It really wasn't fair.
Everyone he knew was augmenting their free money with a side hustle. He should have considered his luck when he thought of one. Yes, it was illegal. Still, he was in the right place at the right time. He didn't think anyone would get hurt. Then, one thing led to another. Before he knew what was happening, he was in way over his head.
Jayden was just a regular guy from Denver, a security guard. He wasn't equipped to deal with Chinese spies, the Russian mafia and the FBI. Murder, a billion dollar computer crime and a beautiful secretary were the things of movies. His most challenging obstacle before this was kicking skateboarders off the property. Now, his wife thought he having an affair. His boss was about to fire him. And, he was an inch away from spending the rest of his life in a federal or Chinese prison. It only depended on who arrested him first.
How did everything spiral this far out of control.
