This book adopts an interdisciplinary approach for analysis and insights into the related areas of media, conflict, peacebuilding, and development in the Pacific, a region in the throes of rapid change. Besides a review of previous publications that have either directly or indirectly touched upon the subject matter, the nine chapters draw on recent developments in the Pacific to provide fresh perspectives and insights into the current issues at stake. As a region undergoing rapid transformation, the complexities are unraveled with precision and depth. The focus is appropriate: not only is sustainable peace and stability elusive, but its absence also impedes long term development.
