Lewis Hurdy goes to work at the library one day and his boss asks him to work on a special project. Before long, Lewis and his friends are tangled up in a series of odd events. First, town centenarian, Wellmer Evenston, is found dead. It's an apparent suicide. But...why? Wellmer loved life and he loved Puma Springs. What could drive him to take his own life? Then, Lewis' boss, Samantha Mellmorth, the one who got him involved in this in the first place, disappears. Almost immediately, Sheriff Potter drags Lewis even deeper into the mystery. Or, is it mysteries? Just what are people hiding? Just what is out there in the woods? Just how far will Lewis go to find out the truth?
