After pursuing an unconventional path to becoming an orthopedic surgeon, John Bullock finally achieved his goal. Hortense, his wife, also fulfilled her dream and became a professional artist. However, God had a different plan for their lives.

This is the remarkable story of how God orchestrated a radical change in their plans through a series of divine events and called John and Hortense Bullock to serve Him at Memorial Christian Hospital in the war-damaged, newly-established country of Bangladesh. They left behind a lucrative practice in modern medicine and a comfortable American lifestyle to work in a primitive setting as part of a team whose mission was to bring the light of the gospel to the people of Bangladesh through compassionate medical care.

With God's guidance and protection, John and Tense faithfully served together in Bangladesh for over 20 years.
